KAIMUKI HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION MEETING

The meeting was called to order by President Steve Nakashima at 6:30 p.m.

1.     MEETING MINUTES:

The minutes of the Board meeting of May 25, 2004 were reviewed.  A correction was made to the date of the minutes.

A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes of May 25, 2004 as corrected.  Motion carried unanimously.

2.     COMMITTEE REPORTS:       

A.        Distribution Committee:

None. 

B.                 Fundraising Committee:

It was decided that the fundraising committee would meet to decide on the next fundraising activity, which will be held on April 2, 2005.  Committee members are:  Mike Takamoto, Owen Oshima, Laura Itokazu, Steve Nakashima and Dennis Manalili serving as the school liaison. 

The Committee will discuss and make suggestions as to the kinds of fundraising activities the Foundation should undertake, as well as how to increase the base of donors.  A suggestion was made to find out whether the database can divide donors by class, so that we may be able to track total class donations, and give recognition on our website to classes who give the most. 

C.        Publicity Committee

Committee members Marian, Jan and Cameron will discuss a possible theme for our next fundraising drive, and suggest how publicity should be handled.  The suggestion of sponsoring a Wall of Fame was also raised again for consideration.

The following theme was suggested:  “Come Home and Bring a Friend”.

3.     ANNOUNCEMENT:

Dennis announced that the next 3Rs project would be held in the Fall.  The project will entail breaking down a wall in the gym to make a concession stand.  Dennis will keep us informed.

4.     NEXT MEETING

            The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 6:00 p.m.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
